What to wear for your experience.

Your outfit plays a big role in how your images feel. The goal is to choose pieces that are timeless, comfortable, and reflect your personality while complementing your surroundings.

Think soft, natural, and effortless - something that allows you to shine.

Color Palette Inspiration

Your experience is designed to feel cohesive, elevated, and timeless. I always recommend building your outfits around a soft, intentional color palette.

Beautiful tones that photograph effortlessly:

  • Creams, whites, soft beiges
  • Dusty blues, sage, olive
  • Warm browns, muted rust, terracotta
  • Soft blush, mauve, muted lavender

For a bolder, editorial feel:

  • Black, deep emerald, navy
  • Denim paired with neutrals
  • Pops of color used intentionally (not all at once)

Try to avoid:

  • Neon colors
  • Harsh contrasts (like pure black and bright white together)
  • Busy patterns or large logos
  • Athletic wear or overly casual clothing (unless it fits your session vibe)

Texas Seasons & What They Feel Like

Texas light is beautiful year-round, but each season gives a completely different story to your gallery.

Spring (March - May)

Soft, romantic, and full of life.

  • Wildflowers (hello bluebonnets)
  • Fresh greens + dreamy light
  • Mild temps (can still be unpredictable)

Best for: soft, feminine, light-filled sessions

Summer (June - August)

  • Golden, glowy, and bold.
  • Late sunsets (more time for golden hour)
  • Warm tones + sun-kissed skin
  • Heat can be intense

Best for: glowing skin, water sessions, carefree energy

Fall (September - November)

  • Warm, earthy, and editorial.
  • Neutral grasses, golden tones
  • Slightly cooler evenings (eventually...)
  • More muted landscapes

Best for: cozy, styled, elevated looks

Winter (December - February)

  • Minimal, clean, and timeless.
  • Soft neutral backgrounds
  • Bare trees + open fields
  • Cooler tones + soft light

Best for: modern, simple, studio or neutral outdoor sessions

Timing Your Session

Lighting is everything and I guide this fully for you.

Outdoor Sessions:

Held during golden hour (sunrise or sunset)

Soft, flattering, glowing light

Studio Sessions:

Typically late morning to early afternoon

Clean, controlled, editorial feel

What to Wear

Think of your outfits as part of the storytelling.

I recommend:

  • 2–3 outfits for variety
  • One “statement” look + one simple, timeless look
  • Flowy dresses, structured denim, layered textures
  • Pieces that move (fabric = magic)

Accessories:

  • Minimal + intentional
  • Gold jewelry photographs beautifully
  • Hats, jackets, or layers for dimension

What to Avoid:

  • Overly trendy pieces you’ll outgrow quickly
  • Ill-fitting clothing (too tight or too loose)
  • Distracting graphics/logos
  • Wearing something you don’t feel confident in

If you don’t feel like you you’ll see it in your photos.
